Having reached a certain age there is that niggling fear that the tools in my shed are rusting. It turns out that you don’t have to wait for a pharmaceutical fix, a diethylwhateverol, there has been considerable nutritional research on diets that delay the onset of dementia. Here is a quick checklist:

  • don’t smoke
  • cut out sugar
  • B vitamins B6 and B12
  • eat fish oils omega 3 fatty acids
  • eat vegetable oils omega 6 fatty acids
  • vitamin D
  • vitamin C
