For a Democrat Jamie Dimon seems almost to praise Trump in a Davos interview with CNBC. However, Dimon uses the requisite qualifiers in his approval: a backhanded slap at Trump ‘family values’, even though the Biden kids have a lot more ethical problems than any of Trump’s progeny, and a suggestion that Trump “kind of got it right” with his policies on the economy, immigration. NATO, taxes …
Note the “kind of” – why not a plain and simple “got it right”? Probably because on CNBC you can’t be seen to actually praise Trump without risk of reputation . But maybe demonization is giving way to dimonization, where someone is worried about direct praise but throws in a bunch of qualifiers just in case the audience isn’t ready – yet.
Maybe Wall Street is hedging its trades for a Trump presidency.
