They Were Lying and they Knew It

Way back in 2002 historian Gwynn Dyer spoke to a group in Qualicum about the imminent Iraq war. Although most of us thought that there was little likelihood, he insisted that the ‘trains were rolling’, a WWI reference that the increasing momentum in Washington was unstoppable. As a journalist he had a few ears in DC and perhaps in Langley and had been told by people who would know that there were no ‘weapons of mass destruction’. Even at the inception, WMDs were just a way to lubricate the wheels on the freight cars, a way to dupe a gullible public into accepting one more holy crusade wetted with the blood of their children.

Tucker links the WMD lie with this week’s indictment of Donald Trump.
